CUPPING MASSAGE
Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist applies special cups to the skin to create suction. This negative pressure creates vasodilation (widening of the blood vessels) which allows for enhanced fluid exchange. This effect pulls stagnation out of the tissues, bringing it to the surface. This may result in marks left on the skin (not bruises). The greatest benefit is the loosening of adhesions and restrictions as fresh nutrients are brought the the area.
